Summary: | The existence of an after-sales authorized service station especially for
motorcycles, certainly is an important thing needed by customers. AHASS (Astra
Honda Authorized Service Station) network is an authorized service station
network of Honda motorcycle brand. Some of the AHASS service stations are
managed in one management (single ownership/a business group) and located at
different locations. We often found that customers still need to queue in order to
repair or maintain their vehicle in some of AHASS service stations hence,
complaints may come from customers.
Actually, the AHASS service stations have improve their application by
providing reservation services by phone. However, in some occasions the AHASS
service station often had difficulties to schedule their service reservation. Based
on these conditions, a mechanism to solve the problem by automates the service
reservation process is required. SMS (Short Message Service) Technology that
growing rapidly at recent time can also be used as an alternative way to solve
these service reservation problems by providing the SMS-based service
reservation. The service station can also provide other services, such as periodic
service notification or delivery the promotional information using this technology
to customers. A service mechanism, which can gives a list of alternative available
AHASS service stations to customers can also be developed in a single ownership
(a business group) AHASS service stations.
In this research, the author tried to develop a prototype of information
system including their SMS-based services for the vehicles service reservations
and the periodical service notifications. The information system is web based and
intended for AHASS service stations which are in a single ownership (a business
group). The existence of the SMS-based services was expected to help the service
stations to automatically schedule the service reservations and help customers to
remember the period of the service they should be held. |
