Wignyo Hadriyanto, MS., Sp.KG(K) ETD This study aims to determine differences in the amount of shear bond strength on the attachment of composite resin in sandwich restorations to conventional glass ionomer cement and resin modified glass ionomer cement. The subjects of this study using 20 pieces of specimens of glass ionomer cement. The specimen was divided into 4 groups, consisting of two groups of conventional glass ionomer cement (Fuji II and Riva) and two resin modified glass ionomer cement group (Fuji II LC and Riva LC). Each group consisted of 5 specimens, which are printed using a mold made from Teflon with a diameter of 6.5 mm with a height of 2.5 mm, cylindrical. Conventional glass ionomer cement group performed administration of acid etching for 20 seconds before the process of bonding material, whereas the glass ionomer cement group modified resins are not made the process of acid etching. resin composite specimens using a Teflon mold with a diameter of 6.5 mm with a height of 3mm which together with brass rings and light-cured for 20 seconds. Specimens stored in incubator for 24 hours at 36 ° C. Furthermore, all specimens are tested research will test by sliding force using a universal testing machine with a speed of 0.5 mm per minute. The results obtained by the average magnitude of shear force required to remove the conventional glass ionomer cement specimens of composite resins of 3.908 MPa (Fuji II) and 3.124 MPa (Riva). The amount of shear force to remove the resin modified glass ionomer cement to composite resin of 9.424 MPa (Fuji II LC) and 8.896 MPa (Riva LC). These results indicate a significant difference based on test one way Annova (p <0.05) and to know the difference between groups and within groups used Tukey post hoc test. The results of this study have significant adhesions between the use of conventional glass ionomer cement and resin modified resin composite in sandwich restoration. Adhesion strength between glass ionomer cements modified resin is greater than the conventional glass ionomer cement, to the resin composite.
