الملخص:Fiber reinforced composite (FRC) is a material that can be used for fixed partial bridge, this material is a resin base material reinforced by fiber substructure which aims to improve its mechanical properties. Fiber reinforced from FRC consists of a variety of fiber structure, differences in fiber structure can affect the mechanical strength. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the difference between the flexural strength of fiber reinforced composite with leno weave polyethylene and fiber reinforced composite with long longitudinal structure polyethylene. The study used 20 subjects FRC plate with a size of 2 x 2 x 25 cm which is divided into 2 groups. Group I, leno weave polyethylene fiber. Group II, long longitudinal polyethylene fiber. Both are coated with flowable composite resin on the bottom and top layer fiber with a high 0.5 mm each and then cured 40 seconds. The top of the flowable composite resin is then given a conventional composite resin to mold and then cured 40 seconds. Then the subjects was treated the test flexural strength with a universal testing machine. From the results showed that there are significant differences between the flexural strength of FRC with leno weave polyethylene and FRC with long longitudinal polyethylene (P <0.05) and flexural strength of FRC in the group with leno weave polyethylene structure is higher than FRC with long longitudinal polyethylene structure. Conclusion: Flexural strength of FRC with leno weave polyethylene were higher and significantly different.
