Description
Summary:Spirometer is needed in the medical world but not all hospitals have facilities spirometer. The high price of a spirometer is one of the factors why the unavailability of a spirometer at each hospital or clinic. To solve the problem then be made a low-cost spirometer with a simpler device. Spirometer which was made in this project is the flow spirometer that uses a method of measuring differential pressure, design of mouthpiece uses a model of orifice, and it can measure Forced Expiratory Volume in First Second (FEV1) and Forced Vital Capacity (FVC). Data acquisition system consists of pressure sensors MPX2010DP, differential amplifier, a microcontroller ATmega8535, and a computer to display the measurement results. Spirometer was tested to a man 27 years with height 167 cm and a woman 28 years with height 163 cm. According to the predictive value of Pneumobile Project Indonesia, for men to have FEV1 predictive value is 2,838 L and FVC predictive value is 3,835 L. While the value of FEV1 of the measurement results is 2,434 L and FVC values is 3,452 L. For women to have FEV1 predictive value is 2,625 L and FVC predictive value is 2,988 L. While the value of FEV1 of the measurement results is 2,230 L and FVC values is 2,603 L. Interpretation of spirometer results for both samples have a normal condition.
