| Summary: | Development of oil palm industry is now growing in Indonesia. Each
region has the potential of coconut vying to invite investors, with the aim to create
jobs through increased PAD. Palm oil industry is generally a lot of standing in the
countryside. With the influx of rural industry, then it will gradually create a
culture of social change. Identify the negative changes that would be beneficial to
minimize the social problems that can evolve and change is a positive
identification will benefit the sustainability of the industry through the welfare
society in an industrial environment.
This study aims to analyze the forms of cultural and social change
processes that occur in society Lingai Village, Menggala Timur Subdistrict,
Tulang Bawang Regency, Lampung Province.
The method used in this study is a qualitative method. Data collected by
observation, depth interviews, and documentation. Decision informants using
snowball technique, to get the informant as many as 23 people consisting of
village officials, religious leaders, youth leaders, community leaders, and the
general public.
Based on the findings in the field, the majority of society views positively
the existence of PT Menggala Sawit Indo especially in the economic aspect,
considering the economic condition of the company after the influx of people is
increasing dramatically. But there are also people who view negatively the
existence of the company, it is mainly related to aspects of waste and road
conditions deteriorated after the company's operations. The existence of PT
Menggala Sawit Indo itself causes social and cultural changes as follows: a)
change the behavior of good taste, especially young people, however, outline
aspects of culture, language and behavior did not change significantly |
