Merr.) is a member of Simaroubaceae which is widely used for tumor treatment in Indonesia. Previous studies showed that B. javanica contain terpenoid s which is potential for anti cancer. The aim of this study were to learn the effects of B. javanica fruit chloroform extract on angiogenesis in chick embryo�s chorio allantoic membrane (CAM) after implantation with rat�s (Rattus norvegicus Berkenhout, 1769) breast tumor tissue and to analyze therapeutic inhibition dose of B. javanica chloroform extract on angiogenesis. This study consisted in three steps, namely extraction, carcinogenesis induction, and anti angiogenic test. The extraction was done using soxhletation method. Carcinogenesis induction was applied to Sprague Dawley female rat with DMBA (7,12-Dimetilbenz[a]anthracene) per oral to achieve tumor tissue which would be implanted to CAM of chicken embryo. In the anti angiogenic test, twenty seven chicken eggs with nine to ten days old embryo were divided into nine groups, that were normal breast tissue implant group, normal breast tissue implant added with extract solvent group, breast tumor tissue implant group, breast tumor tissue implant added with extract solvent group, breast tumor tissue implant added with 50 µg/ml extract group, breast tumor tissue implant added with 75 µg/ml extract group, breast tumor tissue implant added with 100 µg/ml extract group, breast tumor tissue implant added with 125 µg/ml extract group, breast tumor tissue implant added with 150 µg/ml extract group. Angiogenic response of CAM around the implant was observed after 72 hours incubation. The data was analyzed statistically using ANOVA and Duncan test. The result of this study revealed that chloroform extract of B. javanica at the concentration of 125 µg/ml could inhibit angiogenesis in CAM of chick embryo after implantation rat�s (Rattus norvegicus Berkenhout, 1769) breast tumor tissue.
