Description
Summary:This paper examines the effect of expenditure had been done by government in education sector on the change of unemployment rate in Indonesia. The government expenditure on education and the number of school are used as the proxies of education. GDP and Year dummy variables are included in the model to look out the trend of unemployment across 33 provinces in Indonesia during 2000-2009. Using Fixed Effects regression, this study finds that some variables in education sector may have significant effects on the unemployment rate. This may imply that the government program in education had given positive contribution to the effort of unemployment reduction in Indonesia.
