Description
Summary:Disasters always leave deep wounds and sorrow for mankind, so that the disaster could no longer be captured through human consciousness. Disasters are also becoming increasingly incomprehensible especially because of the disaster was also part of social construction in which there is struggle for a variety of interests, reinforced by the assumption that in a disaster there is always a blessing behind it. In the midst of difficulty understanding and addressing this reality in such disasters, crouch big questions about what exactly is the disaster? And what attitude should be developed to understand and interpret disasters?. This study sought to find reality in-depth and also the metaphysical structure of reality disaster that was based on metaphysical thinking Heidegger and Whitehead. Metaphysics Heidegger and Whitehead was chosen because it has a different perspective with a general perspective view of the world that Heidegger and Whitehead's metaphysics is considered more representative to be able to see the reality of the disaster in more light and depth. The results will be useful as a theoretical framework for understanding the reality of the human face of disasters which impact on attitudes to better interpret and respond to every disaster that comes before men. The method used in this research is hermeneutics and heuristics, supported by three main special methodical elements, namely description, comparison and reflection. The results obtained after performing a search in this study are that: First, the disaster is a reality which is based on fundamental-philosophical error in human understanding or perspective about themselves, about nature, and about man's place in the overall ecosystem. Second, the disaster in the horizon of metaphysics definitive is a devastating reality. Third, the reality of the disaster is not the reality of alien in the presence of humans. Fourth, the reality of the disaster is not the reality of the coming of a sudden and inevitable. Fifth, the disaster as far as human experience is always a human action. Sixth, the reality of the disaster is a reality that is forcing people to re-interpret the existence in the world. The attitude that must be placed forward of understanding and addressing the disaster in metaphysics that is based on the thinking of Heidegger and Whitehead, consists of two main attitudes. First, disasters should be addressed as a guidance of "Being" in humans, so with that man becomes more make sense of her life that had been forgotten due to isolation by the reality that is made by humans. Second, that the disaster should be addressed as a "process" that unfolds in the process-of-becoming actual entities in the universe. Thus, the understanding of disaster in the context of the "process" is, give way in humans that the reality of the disaster can be managed, controlled and even avoided.
