Summary: | The growth of Islamic banking after the issuance of Law No. l0 of 1998 is
very significant, previously there was only one Islamic bank of BMI in 1992. The
mushrooming of Islamic banks in the midst of the Muslims in Indonesia are
expected to provide significant changes to the problems that plagued the people of
Indonesia that is poverty and a wide range of other social inequalities. Thus, as an
Islamic-basedbat*ing, Islamic banks should certainly provide a balance between
the achievements of Islamic banks in this case is identified by the soundness of
Islamic banks with a social contribution.
The purpose of this study was to determine the condition of the financial
health of Islamic banks, Islamic banks condition of social contribution and
analyze keterpengaruhan between the Islamic bank's frnancial health with the
social contribution of Islamic banks. The method used in this research is
descriptive quantitative analysis. The object of this study is 3 (tfuee) Islamic
banks namely Bank Muamalat Indonesia (Blnfl), Bank Syariah Mandiri (BSM)
and Bank Syariah Mega Indonesia (BMSD. Period of this study for 7 (seven)
years from 2004 to 2OlO. Through descriptive analysis is known that Islamic
banks in general health in a healthy state with the highest credit scores get a BMI
of 97.74 and then BMSI BSM credit scoring 89.31 and 85.48. Whi,l the social
contrjbution of Islamic banks are generally in pretty good condition, BSM
received the highest credit score of 71.85 then BMSI and BMI with each of the
credit score of 68.35 and 68.07. Analysis of the data used are panel data
regression analysis with 3 (three) approaches the Pooled Ordinary Least Squares
(PLS), Fixed Effect Method (FEM) and Random EfiFects Method (REM) Through
the selection of models with Chow and Hausman Test Test produced the most
effective model is the method of PLS.
Based on the PLS method performed the t test, it is known that the
independent variables (financial soundness of Islamic banks) did not significantly
influence the dependent variable (social contributions of Islamic banks) by 1.80 tstatistic
<t-table at the 2.09 level of significance o : SYo. Coeffrcient of
determination R2 show that the financial health of the independent variables of
Islamic banks are able to explain variations in social contributions of Islamic
banks by 14% the remaining360/o is explained by other variables (error term) are
not included in the equations of this model. |
