Summary:The aim of the present study was to evaluate the result appearing of schneiderian membrane elevated without ruptured by comparing the hydrodynamic ultrasonic and osteotome technique using intenal approach. This study was carry out on August, 2011 at Prof. Soedomo, Oral and Dental Hospital, Faculty of Dentistry, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta. A total of 13 fresh, Indonesian short tail sheep heads aged 4 � 5 years old were used for the present investigation. Every head was sectioned on the maxillary sinus roof, extracted the 3 rd premolars, and socket alveolectomy to 3 mm vertical height of alveolar ridge on both side. Osteotome techneique was tested on the left side and hydrodynamic ultrasonic on the right side. The results of this research showed there was significant difference on the elevated of the schneiderian membrane by hydrodynamic ultrasonic compare by osteotome technique. A comparison using Mann Whitney test showed a significant difference p = 0,000 (p < 0,001) It could be concluded that hydrodynamic ultrasonic could elevate the schneiderian membrane higher than osteotome technique.
