Description
Summary:
Carbonate sedimentologicalstudy of Middle - Late Miocene Wonosari Formation in the east Pacitan has been conducted. The objective of this study is to determine the carbonate facies distribution and interpret the environment of deposition. The Wonosari Formation in the east Pacitan area comprises of coral boundstone facies, foraminifera packstone-wackestone, larger foraminifera packstone, coral-larger foraminifera rudstone, and algal-foraminiferal packstone facies. As a result, these facies represent depositional environment of reef-associated carbonate platform. These facies include the reef zone or the outer shelf, basin-outer slope and middle-upper slope environments situated to the north of the reef zone. A back reef-inner shelf environment also interpreted being deposited to the south of Pacitan area.
