Some paleoanthropological findings in Indonesia indicated that there are two racial groups:Australomelanesoid and Mongoloid. It has been recognized that at the end of Late Pleistocene time, Australomelanesoid inhabited Southeast Asia and spread to the eastern and southern part of Indonesia. At the end of the Late Neolithic and Paleometallic Age, the polarization of the racial becamemoreapparent.Theelementsof Australomelanesoidwerestrongerin the east andsouth of Indonesia. Onthe other hand, the elements of Mongoloid developed stronger in western and northern part of Indonesia. Based on some characteristicsof paleoanthropological populations, it indicates that the Mongoloid came from the Asian mainland and pushed the Australomelanesoid to the eastern most Indonesia. Materials and methods: The variables used in this study are patterns of dental modification, racialaffinity and antiquity. We studied 20 prehistorichuman cranial series derived from many regions of Indonesia. We used osteoscopy to determine the racialaffinity and the field reports to determine antiquity, and odontoscopy, X-ray and comparison to determine patterns of dental modification. Results and conclusion: Results of this study show the patterns of migration and especially mongoloidization of Australomelanesoid inhabitants who the first inhabitants in Indonesian Archipelago at around ,Neolithic and the afterwards from dental modifications. They already spread and occupied Indonesia until to the eastern part of Indonesia.</p> [Yogyakarta] : Fak.Kedokteran Gigi Universitas Gadjah Mada 2012 Article NonPeerReviewed , Rusyad Adi Suriyanto (2012) MONGOLOIDIZATION AROUND NEOLITHIC UNTIL PRESENT INDONESIA: A PERSPECTIVE OF DENTAL MODIFICATIONS. text. http://repository.ugm.ac.id/digitasi/index.php?module=cari_hasil_full&idbuku=3908
