According to the mandate of the regulation on narcotics, drug addicts are required to undertake rehabilitation. However, this regulation has not been imposed and the National Narcotics Agency has initiated the consensus among relevant 7 (seven) government agencies to prioritize the rehabilitation for the drug addicts. The objective of this research is to investigate the action taken by the investigators toward drug addicts after the implementation of the Joint Regulation. The research finds out coordination issues between investigators and the medical rehabilitation agencies and/or social after the enactment of the Joint Regulation. The research is undertaken through literature research to obtain secondary data, and field investigation to acquire primary data in the form of interviews with respondents and resource persons. The data was analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method. It was found that the drug addicts voluntarily reporting themselves to the Sleman Police precinct were processed to the Mandatory Report Accepting Institution for an assessment. The assessment, which was carried out for medical and/or social rehabilitation with a maximum of 2 (two) times within the care period, will not be criminally charged. Meanwhile the dug addict suspects, which were caught can be medically and/or socially rehabilitated after the recommendation from the joint assessment team. In the case of a voluntary reporting to the Sleman Police Precinct investigator by the drug addicts, the case will be coordinated to the medical and/or social rehabilitation agency, in this case is PSPP. However, after the implementation of Joint Regulation, no drug addicts voluntarily reported themselves. Whenever the suspects of the drug addiction that were caught, the Sleman Police Precinct investigator which is the element of law enforcement team beside the Sleman Narcotics National Agency, Sleman District Attorney, and Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Yogyakarta Province, coordinate themselves as a part of a joint assessment team, including with the Bhayangkara Hospital and Ghrasia Hospital which serve as the medical doctor team. The medical team consist of doctors from Bhayangkara Hospital and psychologists from Ghrasia Hospital.
