Depression is one of the most common psychological disorder assosicated with HIV/AIDS disease. Several researchs indicated that depression influence physical, psychological and social condition of HIV/AIDS patient. This study aimed to determine the effect of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which involves psychoeducation, thought catching, reality testing, interoceptive eksposur, relaxation, and home work, on level of depression of HIV/AIDS patient. Two men and women HIV/AIDS patients of 26-31 years old, with middle-severe depression score, and have good motor function, participated in this study. Depression is measured using Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) which is filled in by the participants before, during and after treatment. Participants recieved treatment individually which applied in 8 sessions for 1-1,5 hours. The Visual inspection graphic showed the differences depression scores before and after treatment. The analysed of the homework, observation and interview indicated the changes on mind set, feeling and behavior before and after treatment. This study find out that the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy can reduce depression level of HIV/AIDS patients.
