Summary: | Street scape is formed between roads and buildings are part of the urban
space, as it can be a media move. A good street is able to accommodate different
users and activities - different. In addition, the function of street scape as
commercial district is also quite dominant. Blok M district of 25 hectares is a
strategic location which can be reached from various directions with a modern
terminal and has a great potential to be developed as hub offices, trade and
services, and entertainment. The phenomenon that there is room Blok-M road is
the parking and street vendors, street vendors classified as informal sector, as the
presence of street vendors is identical with or close to public spaces of the city.
The research method used in this study is the rationalistic method with
qualitative approach, namely to discover problems in the field and then create a
framework of research and process data to determine quantitatively the results of
qualitative. The development of a commercial area that is one sector of the
economy is strongly influenced by the growth of purchasing power or
consumption is also one indicator of economic movement. It also is important in
this regard is the presence of strong factors such as shopping centers that are
potentially at a point generator commercial district. Therefore this study aimed to
(1) Assess the spatial pattern of roads by users in the commercial area of Blok-M
(2) Determine the factors that affect the area of road space utilization (3) Obtain
directives / guidelines to resolve problems in the utilization road space that can
accommodate the needs of users in a single lane road in accordance with their
needs in the commercial district, where in fact the much needed direction
utilization of road space corresponding to the functions and needs. |
