pelican crossing andtunnel crossings. Performance evaluation of the bridge crossing at
Bekasi was conducted to assess the extent of the effectiveness of its use,the behavior of
pedestrians and issues that affect them to use or not use the bridge crossing facilities, and to find alternativesolutions which bridge crossings are able to provide comfort, security and ableto attract pedestrians.
Themethod used is descriptive analysis method, which describes the actual situation
on the field based on the results of several surveys. In addition to the level of effectiveness, some of the issuesunder study include: the level of security, distance and travel time, thedimensions of the stairs, the height of the bridge, the bridge width, and sideobstacle factors such as traders and beggars.
From the results of the analysis at location 1 (SudirmanStreet), the number
ofpedestrians who are not using the pedestrian bridge facility by 67% while thoseusing the pedestrian bridge facility by 33%. At location 2 (Ahmad YaniStreet), the number of pedestrianswho use pedestrian bridge facility by 68% while those not using the pedestrianbridge facility by 32%. At location 1 is based on the security level of 72%, 70%distance, travel time 77%, 52% high bridge, the bridge width of 72%, thedimensions of the stairs 70%, 82% traders and beggars 88%. While on location 2 is based on the security level 82%, 72%distance, travel time 78%, 82% high bridge, the bridge width of 73%, thedimensions of the stairs 67%, 73% traders and beggars 93%.Alternativesolutions at location 1 (SudirmanStreet) is by thorough repairment of pedestrian bridge and its supporting facilities, while atlocation 2 (Ahmad YaniStreet) is by redesign the stairs dimensions and relocate the bridge to accommodate the user's convenience. |
