Examination of laboratory parameters such as CRP levels can help to determine the degree of severity of pneumonia. This study is a cross-sectional analytical study to determine the differences CRP levels in severe pneumonia and very severe pneumonia. Subjects were all pediatric patient aged >28 days up to 60 months with diagnosis of severe pneumonia and very severe pneumonia were admitted in treated in Sanglah Hospital Denpasar, who had the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Thirty subject for each of severe pneumonia and very severe pneumonia. Conducted a quantitative examination of CRP levels. Performed statistical analysis with Mann-Whitney test and ANCOVA with level of significance p <0.05. There are significant differences in mean levels of CRP in severe pneumonia and very severe pneumonia. Very severe pneumonia had a CRP level 54.75 (0.22 to 216.00) mg/L and severe pneumonia had CRP levels 16.06 (0.97 to 89.35) mg/dl. Age factor, use of antibiotics, nutritional status did not affect CRP levels. CRP levels are influenced by the severity of pneumonia (p=0.001) and time CRP test (p=0.001). Very severe pneumonia have a higher median CRP compared with severe pneumonia. [Yogyakarta] : Universitas Gadjah Mada 2012 Thesis NonPeerReviewed , dr.
