Summary: | The demand of the air transport is increased over time. This situation
attracts the airlines to increase their supply. The airlines increase their supply not
only by increasing flight frequency but also by replacing their aircrafts with the
aircraft types that have larger seat capacity. Every aircraft has the limitation in
terms of the operating permit. Airlines have to replace their aircrafts if their
aircrafts reach the maximum age limit. Even, some types of aircrafts are no
longer manufactured. It triggers the use of new types of aircrafts by the airlines.
This study is conducted to assess the current aircraft types that still
possible to be operated in Indonesia for 20 years based on Aircraft age. Those
aircrafts are analyzed whether those types of aircrafts are allowed to be operated
in the Achmad Yani aerodrome by simulating payload and range. The
improvements of the airside infrastructures are proposed to optimize the aircrafts
served.
The analysis result shows that most of the current aircrafts operated in
Indonesia are still possible to be operated until the next 20 years. By considering
the aircrafts manufacture orders and the age of operated aircrafts, the current
aircrafts that are still possible to be operated until 2031 are Boeing 737 classic
such B737-300, -400 and -500 |
