Summary:Book publishing and printing business is one of the creative industries in Indonesia which has a very bright prospect. End of the book production process is the process of plastic packaging by using the impulse sealer, which is less effective because it still uses a six-movement work from the operator. The purpose of this study is to find new methods and new tools to improve productivity and efficiency of work. The research�s methods carried out by comparing the impulse sealer and L Sealer, with the study of time using a stop watch and a map of the right hand side. The results are then analyzed by comparing the defect, the length of processing time and the amount of movement between the impulse sealer operators with L Sealer. The experimental results showed that the use of L sealer provides time efficiency of 17.77% compared to the impulse sealer. The economic analysis shows that the L sealer gives a profit of Rp 385,200 units / month if L sealer mass produced. BEP is achieved in 1.7 years on sales of Rp 1,015,568 per unit. L Sealer is particularly useful in small and medium industries because its manufacture is simple, inexpensive, does not require a big electricity consumption.
