Electricity is highly important for human life. Almost all people need electricity in their daily life to meet such needs as lighting, domestic appliances and so forth. Before one is installing electricity, a careful planning needs to be taken to ensure safety, efficient and effective supply of electricity. Electric installation is a complicated work because it closely relates to the conditions and needs of materials to be used. Complexity in electric installation requires the electric contractors to secure much longer time to serve the consumers. Therfore, a system is highly needed to provide information regarding the costs of electric installation to secure a satisfying, effective and efficient planning. In this study, a project was carried out in regards to the development of the client-server based application. The softwares used were Microsoft Windows XP Profesional Operation System, Database Server MySQL, Visual Basic 6.0 and Crystal Report 8.5. The result of the development is an application usable in calculating the costs of household electric installation. This application is designed with the capacity to be operated in the client-server network. The consumers can make consultation and change the installation components suitable to their requirements. In addition, this application is also developed with a choice of installation based on the quality.
