Summary: | In the subdistrict of Parigi, Muna, the farmers bred and cared for Baliness cows in
traditional ways. They did not use any technological help for the animals food,
health, or mating. Besides an unorganized way of selling the animals, lots of good
quality male and female animals were also sold. As the part of care, the breeders
allowed the cows to wander as they did not have stalls or fenced in field for the
cows. Therefore, it was vital for the improvement of the breeders role in order
they could be more independent in finding financing support, planning and
managing their farming. The local government had been striving for these things
for the villagers including the farmers aiding this by forming the farmers group. It
was unfair for the cow farmers group since they could be not involved in decision
making of the farming cases in that village. The breeders group that had been
formed needed to improve its managing system. To achieve it, they needed a good
organization system for the farmers group.
This study uses a method of qualitative and quantitave research. It took place in
Parigi subdistrict, Muna district, interviewing 117 of the breeders which were
included in the breeders group.
