Summary:Teenage pregnancy is a complex issue at the United States of America. The rates decline in 2006 but increase in 2007. This research aimed to know the causes, impact and prevention of teenage pregnancy at the United States. The approach used in this research is interdisciplinary approach using politics, cultural, economics, psychological and social theories. The data were obtained from library and internet. This research also used films and some literary works as a mental evidence to discuss the problem. Based on the result, there are four factors cause teenage pregnancy in the United States of America, i.e. cultural, economic, social and psychological. Pop culture and the effect of media and free sex is a cultural factor. Social factor include family, peer-group, alcohol and drugs, and sexual harassment or rape. Psychological factor discuss about teenage as a growth individual. Poverty relates to economics factor. Federal arranges some prevention program to cope teenage pregnancy in America such as Comprehensive Sexual Education, Abstinence-Only Education and Youth Program.
