HUBUNGAN JUMLAH LIMFOSIT T CD4+ DARAH DENGAN KONDILOMA AKUMINATA (Kajian pada Layanan Infeksi Menular Seksual)

CD4+ T lymphocytes play a role in encountering the occurrence of condyloma accuminata (CA). Reduced number of CD4+ T lymphocytes in blood may impair immunity and increasing risk of having CA. The number of blood CD4 + T lymphocytes as a marker of immunological deficiency in patients with CA is not k...

Satiti Retno Pudjiati ETD CD4+ T lymphocytes play a role in encountering the occurrence of condyloma accuminata (CA). Reduced number of CD4+ T lymphocytes in blood may impair immunity and increasing risk of having CA. The number of blood CD4 + T lymphocytes as a marker of immunological deficiency in patients with CA is not known. The risk of CA caused by low CD4 + T lymphocyte count in blood should be compared to the sufficient one. In order to know those conditions, we conduct a case-control study. The subjects are patients of the sexually transmitted infections services in Yogyakarta. Cases were patients with CA, the controls were non-CA patients. Blood counts of CD4 + T lymphocytes of each subject were examined. Data on gender, age, number of lifetime sexual partners, age at first sexual intercourse and condom use were also recorded. This study involved 53 CA patients and 112 controls. Blood CD4 + T lymphocyte count 733 cells/mm3 blood is the optimum cut-off point (sensitivity 58%, specificity 61%). CD4 + T lymphocyte count <500 cells/mm3 have a very low sensitivity (17%) and high specificity (87%). Area of AUC of 60% indicates the CD4 + T lymphocytes counts are very weak to determine the occurrence of CA. CD4+ T lymphocyte count 733 cells/mm3 is a risk factor for CA (OR 1.8 [Yogyakarta] : Universitas Gadjah Mada 2012 Thesis NonPeerReviewed , MILANA WIDYASARI and , dr.
