Summary:Growing health concerns and massive antismoking campaigns launched by governments proved to be quite a problem for the tobacco lobby. In the USA and Western Europe cigarette sales started diminishing while in the Eastern Europe and Asia sales volume are still booming. This condition leads the cigarette companies moved their factory footprint to Asia. This business environment changes has created and increased the competition in the region and the change is much more rapid. Competitors, technology and regulations can change seemingly overnight. Globalization introduces opportunities and competition from all corners of the globe. The organization needs the map that describes accurately the new business environment that will be faced now and in the future. A strategy map provides a concise yet comprehensive description of an organization�s strategy. With this clarity, executives have an enhanced ability to describe measure, manage and execute the desired strategy. To get the most from a strategy map, however, it should be combined with a Balanced Scorecard of measures, performance drivers, targets and initiatives. This combined strategy map and Balanced Scorecard allows the effectiveness of the strategy to be constantly monitored and initiatives to be managed with the goal of closing any gaps between target performance and actual results. In short, when used in combination with a Balanced Scorecard, a strategy map helps organizations execute more effective and efficiently. In this case study, PT. Filtrona Indonesia is taken as the object of research to explore and describe its implementation of the Balanced Scorecard then design a specific Strategy Map for integrating the organization objectives in the fours perspective of a Balanced Scorecard in order to gain the competitive advantage and win in this competitive market as stated on its vision to become �Unbeatable leader in cigarette filters industry �
