Kalbe Farma, Tbk. is the one of leading pharmaceutical companies in Indonesia which is always innovating to maintain its market share and is currently doing a performance improvement to manage its assets including the intangible asset that one of them is the creativity of its employees. Innovation that was created in creativity was an intellectual property possessed by the inventors and that is an intangible asset for each company. The company requires knowledge-based management including knowledge in managing intellectual property in order to make innovation continuously to anticipate changes in the dynamic environment.The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of appreciation of intellectual property against motivation to innovate on the employees of R & D and Production Division at PT. Kalbe Farma, Tbk. Research is nonexperimental research with the subject of 27 employees from R & D division and 50 employees from Production division at PT. Kalbe Farma, Tbk. corresponding the criteria inclusion. A questionnaire consisting of the appreciation of intellectual property�s questionnaire adopted from Simamora�s theory (2004) and motivation to innovate�s questionnaire adopted from Kinlaw�s theory (1985). Validity and reliability test using the try out elapsed methods, that is continued with an analysis using regression methods and simple t-test to see whereabout the difference of result between R & D division and Production division using SPSS 17 for windows. The result show that there is a high level the influence of appreciation of intellectual property against motivation to innovate on employees of R & D division and Production division. The influence for employees of R & D division is about 43,4% with the regression equation Y = 0,290 + 0,658 X, whereas the influence for employees of Production division is about 20,4% with the regression equation Y = 0,149 + 0,452 X. From the t-test known there is no significant difference between the influence of the appreciation of intellectual property against motivation to innovate in the employees of R & D division and Production division.
