ETD Merapi has become the most active volcano in Indonesia. The last period of eruption of Merapi Volcano was occurred from October 26 th until November 5 th . The VEI value of the last eruption is four which describes the big and explosive type of eruption. Approximately 130 million m 3 of volcanic material was released from the eruption and affecting surrounding environment especially farming activities. The purpose of this study is to measure and to analyse the impact of Merapi Volcano eruption to the farming activities. DaLA (Damage and Loss Assessment) method which developed by ECLAC is used within this study to measure the value of damage and loss of impacted farming activities. Several components used in this method are changes in the farming area and changes in the amount of farming production between pre- and post-eruption period. The results of this study show that most of the farming areas were impacted partially, which located in the centre and the south part of study area. Meanwhile, the total impacted farming area mostly located on the north part of the study area. From the other aspect, the percentage of loss suffered by farming activities ranging from 70 to 100 %. The high percentage of loss mostly found on plantation which located on the north part of study area.
