Description
Summary:The growing era of information influences decision making process in day to day business activity. One of the problems found in business activity is allocating a limited resource which may conflict with some of business objectives. This problem can be resolved using a system developed using Multi Attribute Decision Making (MADM) model and Multi Objective Decision Making (MODM) model. MODM model will define the design for the best alternative and MADM model provides complete selection for several alternatives which have limited resources. MADM model is used to simplify the mathematical form of MODM. The characteristic differences of the data affect the selection of MADM model approach. MADM model approach, such as Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) is used for cardinal characteristic data format. The main concept of TOPSIS is finding the best alternative that has the closest distance from the positive ideal solution and also finding the farthest distance from the negative ideal solution. Decision-maker provides values for weighing criteria as an input to the TOPSIS methods, values are calculated with Entropy methodology. The objective is to provide the each weighing criteria objectivity. The output of TOPSIS methods will provide rank to several alternatives. The rank of alternatives become the decision variables in mathematical MODM model for goal programming to resolve the problem of limited allocated resource which has conflict with business objectives. Finally, decision support system defines ranks of selected stores and it also presents the capacity of each store for distributing spare part.
