Summary: | Banking industry is a thriving industry which continues to grow from technological
and services sides to service its costumer. One of its main services is the
disbursement of consumer loan in order to make people easier to have and own all
kind of consumer goods and services. BNI uses alliance strategic with mutifinance
company as a mean to distribute its consumer loan and by doing so it is also able to
reduce BNI�s cost and to mitigate risks in a better way which in turn can lower its
pricing policy to the public, increase competitive advantage among its peer and better
also accurate credit administration. This research describes the stages that are being
passed by BNI and multifinance company in an alliance strategic partnership
according to Faulkner (1995), Child & Faulkner (1998) dan Buchel et.al (1998), these
states are: Formation, Operation and Evaluation. By using content analysis, this
research describe vividly the situation in stages formation and operation while in
evaluation stage, a comparation analysis is used to determined the success of the
alliance strategy by comparing loan growth portfolio, NPL control during 2005 �
2010 and business process including service level agreement. The research found
that an alliance between BNI and multifinance company was formed due to the lack
of fund needed by the latter in order to operate later loan disbursement was made
under the terms of a credit agreement. Other than that communication also played an
important role in terms to ensure the cooperation walks in its corridor and to
minimize sensitive issues that were aroused. Strategic alliance proved to be pivotal in
increasing BNI�s consumer banking, throughout 2005 � 2010 consumer loan
specifically vehicle loan increased 15% year on year and maintain its NPL ratio
below 5% as being ordered by Bank Indonesia. |
