Description
Summary:Balanced scorecard defined as a management system as a means of measuring company performance which includes the financial and non financial, long and short term, external and internal, lag and lead indicators of the company to accomplish its vision. Balanced scorecard was implemented at UNDP in 2000. The original aim of balanced scorecard was to translate the strategies chosen but during its implementation until 2007, the design of balanced scorecard was more suited to operational management. In 2007, an evolution was made to return balanced scorecard as a strategic management device. As a strategic management device, balanced scorecard has function to monitor strategies chosen by senior management and actions taken in achieving the strategies. The problem in this thesis is concerning balanced scorecard implementation as well as achievement of its indicators and the strategies or actions made to improve balanced scorecard. The methode used in this thesis is descriptive qualitative through data collection from UNDP website consisiting indicators and targets as well as participation, observation, review on documents related to the evaluation and interview to obtain information and confirmation regarding understanding on this case study at UNDP Indonesia. The conclusion of this evaluation is although implementation of balanced scorecard at UNDP Indonesia is good but improvement is always made by organization through adding indicators used to return its function as a strategic management. Aside from this, some actions or strategies are taken by management to improve indicators with unsatisfying achievements. For organization, good results of balanced scorecard will give satisfaction and pride to management due to achievements of targets and bad results of balanced scorecard will give bad feeling because achievement is below standard.
