The process that happens in the refinery is called distillation. Distillation process is performed based on differences of the boiling points respectively owned by crude oil fractions. In order to support the smooth implementation of the optimization process. It is important to maximal the outcome and minimal the need of destilation equipment, and equipment maintenance costs. The optimalization is performed by machine/equipment sharing or component which is used by the Weibull distribution. Curve fitting method with Matlab is used to explain the characteristic of each of the sampled unit ID in the destilation process in CDU refinery. Weibull distribution analysis is an estimation method of the probability machine tools performance based on existing data for a specific time. The process of data sampling is done by ReliaSoft Weibull++ Version 7. It explains degradation patterns of each of the sampled unit ID, and shows the calculation results of the sampling. As the result, it is obtained from the optimum prediction time each unit ID. The value of accuracy of curve fitting which is done by Matlab is 99.99 %, and sampling data which is calculation by ReliaSoft Weibull++ Version 7 results the time to failure of each of the sampled unit ID in the destilation process in CDU IV dan V refinery. That the result is 13.1 month (393.9 days) for the optimum shutdown maintenance period of refinery CDU Balikpapan Pertamina RU V, particularly in the refinery CDU IV and V.
