The intention of the present research on gender issues in Cambodia is to improve understanding of the primary trends in girls' education during the 1990s and the early part of the new decade with respect to participation and attainment in four main areas: 1. Commitment of resources to education over the last 10 years 2. Patterns in respect to enrollment, completion, dropout, etc. 3. The extent to which government policies have affected girls/women's participation in formal and informal education systems 4.
