Summary: | Talent has become an essential issue to any organizations locally or internationally. In order
to attract the best talent, Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) has constructed an effective
framework in attracting talent to work in the educational sector especially in being an
academician. Currently, most of the public Higher Learning Institutions (HLIs) has provided
a good scheme to attract potential talent to work with them. However, the connection
between attracting talent and employee satisfaction is still ambiguous. Therefore, the
objective of this research is to find out about the relationship between attracting talent and job
satisfaction in selected public HLIs. Quantitative approach has been used in order to collect
primary data from 238 respondents in selected public HLIs which are Universiti Sains
Malaysia (USM), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) and Universiti Teknologi Mara
(UiTM). Information obtained from this method has been analyzed using IBM Statistical
Package Social Sciences (SPSS). As a result, there was a moderate relationship recorded
between attracting talent and job satisfaction. However, USM scored slightly higher
correlation between attracting talent and job satisfaction as compared to other two public
HLIs. As a conclusion, each public HLIs has their own way in order to attract potential talent
and comfort them with good and attractive scheme in order to achieve their job satisfaction.
Therefore, public HLIs need to work in parallel in order to create better attracting talent
program with job satisfaction because these two variables are interrelated. |
