Objective of this project is to investigate the wave attenuation on the coir rolls with respective to depth of water, d and wave steepness. The testing of the coir rolls with a diameter of 11.5 cm and a length of 30 cm was done in the wave flume of the Hydraulics Lab with respect to different depths of 20 cm, 15 cm, 12 cm and 11.5 cm as well as different wave period and wave steepness as well. Two different configurations of coir rolls were tested. The incident wave heights and transmitted wave heights were recorded and the results were interpreted in the results and discussion chapter of this report. The coir rolls were found to have attenuated the waves effectively at the depth of 11.5 cm as the range of Ct values at this depth are the lowest compared to the ranges of other depths. Due to the wave being obstructed more by the coir rolls, the transmitted wave height was lower causing the Ct coefficient to be lower.
