Description
Summary:This experimental study is done to investigate the effects of friction stir welding parameters (rotational speed of tool and feed speed of tool) on the microstructure of the welded material. In this study AA6061- T6 (Aluminum) which is used to build private aircrafts, boats, bicycles and heat exchangers was the material studied. Mechanical properties such as strength and hardness of the welded joint material were also investigated. A deliberate design of experiment (DoE) was planned and carried out with varying the welding parameters at a constant setting of room temperature and material. The joints’ microstructure was then studied, as well as the mechanical properties was experimented.
