Summary: | Copper is one of the most valuable and prevalent metals utilized in all chemical industries. There are many methods for treating various kinds of industrial wastewater that are contaminated with heavy metal ions like copper and many other ions. A range of techniques are being used to remove Cu2+ from wastewaters. Adsorption is the most desirable alternative owning to the accessibility of cost- effective, viable and environmentally friendly. The present research is devoted to develop and characterize bioadsorbents remediate copper ions from industrial wastewater. Bioadsorbents obtained from agriculture and forests have greater potential for removing copper ions due to higher uptakes, cheaper cost nature, bulk accessibility and mono-to-multilayer adsorption behavior. The adsorbents that are mainly used now such as activated carbon and polymeric resins are available at very high cost. Adsorbents used should be cost effective and should have high efficiency to facilitate the removal of heavy metals from wastewater. |
