Summary: | A study of land usage will require a land cover map that is high in spatial
resolution and updated images. Landcover maps are important because they will help
the authorities to predict and produce data for future development, monitoring
available resources, and even used to forecast the weather. The purpose of this study
is to determine the accuracy of a relatively new landcover map, GlobeLand30.
Determining the accuracy of a landcover map is important because it will affect the
result of future research that will be using this landcover map. The scope of this study
covers the southern region of Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan,
Malacca, Johor, Terengganu, Pahang, and Sarawak) because they have the potential of
raising the country’s economy through tourism. These areas also have high potential
for future urbanization. |
