Description
Summary:To cater the increased need of humans, energy being crucial, has left no choice for researches to work on alternative fuels like fossil fuels energy etc. Despite of its pollution and failure to sustain due to the depletion of the reserved. Hence an attempt is made to prepare fuel briquettes as an alternative source for energy application from highly available agricultural biomass rice husk, in Malaysia with huge amount of production per year, However, problem encountered by rice husk which naturally comes with low bulk density and low moisture content resulting in low durability characteristics of rice husk briquette. Thus, this study aims in producing rice husk briquette at various moisture content, 12%, 14% and 16% and determine the suitable moisture content of briquettes which promotes high durability with good fuel properties. The briquette was evaluated by conducting chemical (ultimate and proximate analysis, thermogravimetric analysis) and physical (density, durability, compressive strength and surface morphology).
