Summary:Misunderstanding and prejudices could escalate to racism and unrest in a multicultural society. History informed us the devastating consequences of the racism and unrest among others were loss of life, properties and sanity. However, those with high cultural intelligence would be able to integrate and live harmoniously in a culturally diverse society. Cultural intelligence is a set of skills which can be developed in a democratic education through dialogic pedagogy. This paper explains how dialogic pedagogy employed in a democratic classroom could enhance cultural intelligence of students at secondary and tertiary level. To this end, the chapter also explicates the relationship between P4C and democratic society, rationales for using Community of Philosophical Inquiry (CPI) to enhance cultural intelligence, the structure and procedures of a CPI session and this paper also presents examples of inquiry plan to assist teachers in implementing effective CPI session. The sample lesson plans are suitable to be used in various subject matters such as in English language class, Moral education class, history and Civic education class.
