Halal issues Purpose: Halal food is one of Allah's rules for eating permissible food and avoiding haram foods. With the rising Muslim population, the availability of halal products and easy-to- access halal food increases the awareness of halal. This paper aims to conduct a systematic article review on the Awareness of Halal Food in Malaysian Economy. Methods/Design/approach: A systematic article review of articles from 2019 to 2024 from Malaysia. Findings: The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) monitors the halal status of food products in Malaysia. Halal certification and the logo of JAKIM are the most trusted among Muslim consumers in Malaysia, which shows that people are aware of halal products. Furthermore, not only Muslims prefer to choose halal food as they are aware of the production of halal food itself, which is hygienic and does not have any cross-contamination on the product. Implication: This study provides significance for Islamic tourism, especially in Malaysia, which covers an extensive range of interests among the young Malaysian generation's demand for the Halal market.
