This study deals with narrative structure and rhetorical devices and the relationship between these two elements in the story of Dhū al-Qarnayn. The study sheds light on various aspects of this story and the rhetorical devices employed in this, using the analytical method. Through this method, the elements of the narrative structure of the story are elaborated upon and the rhetorical elements present in the phrasing aspect of the story are examined, to make out the subtleties of expression in a manner which will explain their role in supporting the narrative structure. In doing so, the researchers have taken into consideration both the linguistic and situational contexts to show the congruence between the narrative elements and the reasons why it appears as such in the Qur’ān, leaving the readers enthralled and deeply impressed.
