Description
Summary:The current demands for shifting of manufacturing sites to low cost regions - necessitate the needs for a proven model for a fast and effective start-up and technology transfer. The operational and simulation models have, from time to time - proven to be a forerunner in streamlining business process, reducing product time to market and developing sustainable competitive advantage. In the context of technology certification process, production equipment and tooling, material handling equipment, inspection equipment, and the computer system that control the manufacturing operations have to be efficiently managed. To operate the production facilities efficiently, the process and equipment must be designed to satisfy product quality requirements. This paper stresses the importance of proactive and integrated approach to modern facility and maintenance engineering. The key focus of facilities and maintenance engineering is gearing towards productivity and efficiency – even so compliance with the technology certification process.
