Summary:The checklist of the variables for the physical characteristics of the Islamic garden is the output from a Ph.D. thesis. In short, the study seeks to identify the physical characteristics of the Islamic garden and adapt its value to garden design in Malaysia. The analysis aims to identify the physical characteristics of the Islamic garden based on three prominent Islamic gardens - the Persian, Andalusian and Mughal gardens. The outcome of the document analysis is expected to consist of a list of variables to represent the Islamic garden. The study focuses on three garden orders, namely the watering, planting, and lodgement orders. The document analysis is used as a method of analyzing the literature reviews as part of a process to examine the details in developing the checklist. The selection of the documents is in the form of textual or written word-based gathered from 295 lists of journals. articles. books, reports, bulletins, and newspapers. The details on the documents are systematically arranged and analyzed using the ATLAS.ti software. In general, the process of the document analysis is to generate a list of the characteristics of the Islamic garden based on three garden orders. This checklist is viewed as the primary key finding that has been analyzed, improved, and tested.
