Summary:This study aims to identify the perception of Arabic for International Communication students in International Islamic University Malaysia on the effectiveness of watching videos in Standard Arabic language towards their linguistic performance, and to discover its impact. The research sample consists of 60 students majoring in Arabic for International Communication in International Islamic University Malaysia within the academic year of 2020/2021. The researcher relied on a descriptive methodology based on questionnaire. The data collected is analysed using SPSS. Through this study, it can be concluded that most students benefit from watching Arabic videos, which answered the first research question regarding students’ perception on effectiveness of watching Arabic videos towards improving their linguistic performance. The researcher also concluded that Arabic videos help Arabic for International Communication students in enhancing listening skill while speaking in Arabic. Through this research, the researcher proposes to conduct studies on more focused and specific skills acquired from watching standard Arabic videos.
