Description
Summary:The purpose of this study is to obtain an understanding of parents’ perception of quality in child care programme at the International Islamic University Malaysia EDUCARE child care centre. Besides, it also aimed to better understand the needs of young children through the eyes of the parents. Open ended interviews questions were adopted to gather information concerning teachers’ experiences and concerns regarding child care programme. Preliminary findings revealed that parents’ perception of quality revolves around the effectiveness of administration and management with the children, staff as well as the parents, staff training, staff commitment, and the teaching and learning materials. This suggests the importance of the efficient management in policy development and service improvement. The parents also stressed on the additional domains of quality that they consider important, such as systematic activities and safety.
