There were 711 sawmills and there were 155 units of Bumiputera sawmill in Peninsular Malaysia. In 1999, Peninsular Malaysia produced 694,667 of sawn timber and exported 0.43 million cubic meters. Red Meranti is the highest species that use in sawn timber producing. Three types of sawn timber are kiln-dry, ungraded and graded.
