Description
Summary:Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis) is one of the most important plantation crops in Malaysia. Oil palm fresh fruit bunch (FFB) harvesting and collection form a single largest direct cost in the production of oil palm. FFB yield is a common parameter to measure the productivity and mostly result verified and confirmed at post harvesting level. Harvesting oil palm FFB at the right stage of ripeness is critical to ensuring optimum quality and quantity of oil production and thus profitability of the industry. The research was conducted on Palm Oil Mill. The samples were collected to determine of Free Fatty Acid (FFA) concentration (%) from riped FFB. The oil comes from tenera variety. Data was measured on laboratory to examine the FFA concentration. The result should be used in this experiment to get the any significance different between de-cored and non-de-cored FFB. From the results of sample T-test the percentage of FFA (%) concentration for the de-cored ripening bunch FFB and non-de-cored showed were significantly affected by the storage time whereas the value of (p= 0.005> α value = 0.05). At the end, the economic analysis of this study was evaluated so that appropriate management recommendations could be provided to improve the overall palm oil mill performance.
