Student dissertation database system is the database for record graduate students' dissertations or research and guideline for final year project (FYP) student PPSUG to guide their research and dissertation. However, unclear standard operation procedures and no system were available to record the previous student's dissertation unavailable in the department, which caused the duplication of projects among students. Therefore, the objective of this study is to i)to investigate the student perception of current implementation on dissertation procedure, ii) to improve the guideline of PPSUG dissertation, iii) to develop a database system on dissertation record and GIS metadata searching. The manual guideline provides student PPSUG with the essential information about preparing, presenting, and submitting a dissertation in a format acceptable for graduate university. The questionnaire was distributed to PPSUG students of semester 5, 6, 7, 8, and alumni and to gain their feedback on FYP implementation. The database was designed using oracle Sqlite3 and Python. The database system is intended to store student dissertations and the metadata of the research dataset. The manual guideline is also provided to students with the essential information about preparing, presenting, and submitting a dissertation in a format acceptable for graduate university. This study can help students find the information for a research project such as title project, finding supervisor, article and can provide the ideas and knowledge that can be used in their research project.
