Vandalism nowadays is a burden to most of local authorities in our country. As frequently reported by mass media, vandalism has caused a lot of damages to the local authorities. Vandalism looms largely in the flat development areas. The increasing need on subsequent rapid development of low cost flat housing may lead to unhealthy and unattractive housing areas which in turn gives rise to a greater incidence in vandalism. Therefore, this dissertation is carried out to examine issues regarding the nature of the problem, to identify the influence factor by comparing three low cost flats developments in Klang Valley. It brings together approaches and measures which have been shown to be effective in reducing vandalism in particular circumstances. Based on the study, it is hoped that the number of vandalism incidents could be reduced.
