Description
Summary:Claimed as the cause for the higher cost of goods in Sabah, the National Cabotage Policy is seen as a failed vision policy. Despite its aim to uplift the domestic shipping lines and reduce dependency on the foreign vessel, it is found that this protectionist policy has become a liability to the public. Therefore, in the effort of not to demise the National Cabotage Policy as the sole cause for the higher cost of goods in Sabah, a research on the public opinion on the National Cabotage Policy was conducted. With a sample totalling up to 163, the extent of the public opinion will be assessed in this study.
