The game's essential elements consists of five players a side on a basketball size court with a variety of surfaces using a no-bounce ball. The no-bounce ball requires players to control the ball using skill rather than the bounce of the ball. Originally, balls were made with the horse hair or cork interior and leather casing. The current official ball contains a rubber bladder, foam and leather casing and is a size 4 to comply with FIFA's international standard. Nowadays, this sport has been played all around the world including here in Malaysia and become one of the most practiced sport in this region. This game also encourages society to practice healthy lifestyle from sport, because of its characteristics that is easy to do, safe, clean and not too aggressive as compared to real football that using the real turf. Furthermore, this sport can contribute a lot on national sport development to highest level. The Ministry of Youth and Sports are trying to develop and improvising Futsal as well as Football to international level so Malaysian team can improve their rank in top level.
